•January 28, 2012 • Leave a CommentStephen Scarlata and I have been developing a comic book based on our FIENDS Action-Comedy feature script. We are working with an artist from Australia named Timothy Ides. In the next few months, I may be shooting a filmed teaser for FIENDS based on this very sequence. Here is a first look at the inked panels for the opening pages. What do you think?
There are more panels coming. Once all the inks are finalized for this entire sequence, then we will have our FINAL GIRL co-writer Johnny T. Silver do the coloring while Stephen and I do the page layouts and add the text. After that, we will create a cover with our artist & start working on creating an animated motion comic trailer. At about the same time I should be shooting the actual filmed version using these very panels as inspiration for my storyboards. Transmedia at its best!

From VARIETY:
Famed photographer Tyler Shields will make his feature directorial debut with the thriller “Final Girl,” which is being produced by Prospect Park.Jack Nasser, CEO of NGN Releasing and Studio City Pictures, will finance the pic, which follows a pack of feral teenage boys who choose the wrong girl to be the victim of their final “initiation.” As it turns out, they didn’t pick her — she picked them.
Steve Scarlata, Alejandro Seri and Johnny Silver wrote the script. Prospect Park’s Jeff Kwatinetz and Rob Carliner will produce with Nasser Group’s Jack Nasser and Joseph Nasser, while Marco Torres will exec produce.
Jim Harvey, who was recently hired to head-up Studio City Pictures, will rep the film for international sales. ICM packaged the project and is representing North American rights.
Shields got his start directing music videos before becoming a world-renowned photographer who has earned acclaim for his video portraits as well as his work in the art and celebrity form, including controversial shoots with Lindsay Lohan and “Glee” star Heather Morris.
Founded in 2009 by Kwatinetz and former Disney Studios head Rich Frank, Prospect Park has been involved with films such as “Unstoppable” and “Seven Days in Utopia,” as well as hit TV shows such as “Royal Pains” and “Wilfred.”
The Nassers, who have been producing indie pics for over 15 years, are currently in post-production on “The Dawn Rider,” an action movie starring Christian Slater, Donald Sutherland and Jill Hennessy.
Shields is repped by ICM.
